About Me
It’s a common phrase, but in my case, it’s true: I have been writing since I could hold a pencil. Even when paper and pencil were out of reach, my mind stayed busy, spinning tales of heroes, heroines, and imagined distant lands. I often found myself drawn to the anti-hero, who somehow managed to take the spotlight in my stories.
Though I never published those early stories, the process helped me develop beautiful penmanship and a love for creating characters and settings. Everything changed in 7th grade when Robert Louis Stevenson’s “Treasure Island” became required reading. The adventures of Jim Hawkins, Long John Silver, the mysterious Skeleton Island, and the Hispaniola fascinated me. I realized then just how powerful simple words could be in transporting readers to other worlds, and I knew I wanted to become a writer.
My career has taken me through the corporate world, the broadcast news industry, and even led me to found and manage a small-town newspaper. That newspaper thrived for thirteen years, reaching a circulation of 10,000 readers.
From my early days as a seventh grader to now, I have become an award-winning, best-selling author of mystery, suspense, crime novels, and true crime.
